Location: Micheldever (Lab vehicle provided for travel across Hampshire)
Rate of Pay: PAYE £22.40 per hour / Umbrella/ LTD £28.88 per hour

Job Description:
As a technician, you will work within the highways laboratory, undertaking a range of responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
- Preparing and conducting surveys to document the condition of highways and related sites.
- Formatting survey information for use by designers, clients, and other stakeholders.
- Coordinating with relevant bodies (e.g., contractors, public utilities) to access required sites.
- Performing laboratory tests, recording results, and ensuring equipment calibration.
- Committing to Health and Safety practices at all times for yourself and others.
- Ensuring equipment calibration and testing conditions are correct, with authority to halt work if parameters are not met.
- Verifying that Health and Safety measures, particularly traffic management, are in place, with authority to pause activities if risks are identified.
- Knowing when to seek guidance from colleagues or line managers.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in licensing, inspections, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong investigative and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills for liaising with stakeholders and presenting reports to panels.
- Knowledge of enforcement procedures and collaborative work with other agencies
- Equal time split between office and on-site work.
- Regular work on live highways and construction sites, including some lone working.
- Interacting with colleagues, contractors, and developers in demanding environments.
- Ability to meet the travel requirements essential to the role.
