Job Description:
The post holder will work in collaboration with the General Anaesthetic team to provide a high quality, progressive and professional anaesthetic service to a broad range of specialties including obstetrics. There are opportunities to develop special interests in Obstetric, Bariatrics, Colorectal Anaesthesia, Preassessment and simulation or Education. This post is offered at 10 PAs per week with two additional PAs per week negotiable following review.
Responsibilities:
A job plan will be agreed with the Clinical Director and post holder on appointment.
Non-clinical responsibilities may include:
- Formal teaching/informal teaching
- Supporting the Induction programme
- Clinical governance – audit/incidents/complaints
- Rota management/Mortality Review/Mentorship
- Additional lead roles available for a newly appointed Consultant
Requirements:
- Medical Degree from a recognised University
- A minimum of 2 years full time post graduate training (its equivalent gained on a part time basis) or equivalent experience and competencies
- 2 Years’ experience following postgraduate training
- ALS ahead of starting
- Full GMC registration or eligibility to secure it.
- Evidence of achievement of Foundation competencies in line with GMC standards/Good Medical Practice
- Eligibility to live and work in the UK
