Job Description:
As the Service Director: Transport and Connectivity, you will play a crucial role within the Place and Sustainability directorate management team. Your leadership will guide our efforts in improving transport connectivity, managing traffic and parking, and overseeing digital connectivity initiatives. You will collaborate with key partners to develop strategies that enhance transport and connectivity for all communities while ensuring that development management effectively addresses highways and transport needs.
Accountabilitiies:
- Provide overall leadership for digital connectivity, parking and traffic management, and sustainable transport strategies.
- Lead the development and delivery of key strategies, including the digital connectivity strategy and Vision Zero partnership.
- Foster a high-performance culture, driving continuous improvement and ensuring efficient service delivery for residents.
- Develop effective communication and engagement arrangements with service users, employees, and stakeholders.
- Collaborate with external stakeholders, including the Cambridgeshire and Peterborough Combined Authority and other clients, to enhance service delivery and investment opportunities.
- Oversee compliance with statutory duties and governance processes related to transport and connectivity.
- Inspire and engage teams by communicating a clear vision aligned with the client’s strategic framework.
- Champion innovation and continuous improvement, encouraging a culture of shared ideas and accountability.
- Promote equality, diversity, and inclusion within the organization, ensuring that all employees feel valued and empowered.
Requirements:
- Comprehensive understanding of local government issues and the statutory framework.
- Excellent analytical, presentational, and communication skills.
- Proven ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with diverse stakeholders.
- A relevant postgraduate level qualification or equivalent experience at a senior leadership level.
- Evidence of continuous professional development in leadership skills.
