Education Psychologist – Winchester (Remote)

Location: Remote (If candidates can make it to Winchester still this would be preferred)
Salary: 
PAYE £931.50 per assessment / Umbrella/LTD £1200 per assessment
Contract Length: March 2025

Job Description:

The Educational Psychologist will contribute to enhancing the quality of education provided in maintained schools and academies across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. This includes supporting children and young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), by offering psychological advice, consultancy, and multi-agency collaboration.

Accountabilities:

  • Provide psychological advice, including statutory advice, for SEN services and other officers for children and young people aged 0-25.
  • Offer psychological support and consultation to schools, parents, carers, and communities.
  • Actively contribute to multi-agency support frameworks for children and young people.
  • Consult with professionals, including teachers and those working in education and inclusion services, to contribute to school effectiveness.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate records and written reports.
  • Provide statutory advice to local authorities in accordance with the SEN Code of Practice.
  • Attend SEN and disability tribunals as required by the local authority.

Requirements:

  • Candidates would need to commit to 4 assessments per month, and also commit upuntil March 2025.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing as an Educational Psychologist.
  • A PhD, Doctorate, or Master’s degree in Educational Psychology (or equivalent).
  • Proven experience in providing statutory advice to local authorities.
  • Strong communication and consultation skills with parents, carers, and educational staff.
  • Ability to contribute to multi-agency support and work effectively within a team.
