Job Description: Are you passionate about making a difference in the lives of learners with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? A local college in the Cambridge area is seeking an instructor – Supported Learning to provide maternity cover, supporting students across a range of vocational options.
As an instructor – Supported Learning, you will provide training and assessment in a variety of work environments, supporting learners in developing key skills. You will monitor progress, set targets, and maintain assessment records to ensure learners achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities:
- Teach, supervise, and assess learners across various SEND programmes.
- Organise and conduct assessments in line with awarding body requirements.
- Monitor learner progress, set action plans, and maintain assessment records.
- Prepare and maintain resources for learning activities.
- Assist in recruitment, open days, and college events.
- Work collaboratively with colleagues to enhance learning experiences.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, health & safety, and equality policies.
Essential Requirements:
- Qualified to at least Level 2 in English and Maths (or able to pass the college’s assessment).
- Relevant vocational experience, particularly in hospitality, catering, or life skills.
- Extensive experience working with learners with learning disabilities.
- Experience delivering training and assessment at entry-level to Level 1.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
