Job Description:
We are currently recruiting for a Level 3 Qualified Nursery Practitioner to work in one of our client’s Children’s nurseries based in Eastleigh, Southampton. The successful candidate must have a passion for childcare and be able to deliver a high standard of learning, development and care for children aged 6 months – 5 years, in line with Early Years Foundation Stage. The client is offering a unique position where they can offer part-time or full-time positions working Monday to Friday- hours 08:30 to 17:00.
The successful candidate must have fantastic knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and have experience in being responsible for a small group of key children.
It is important to plan and implement activities to each individual child’s developmental stage. You must be able to cultivate fantastic relationships with not only the children but also the parents/carers; not to mention your team around you.
Accountabilities
- Making sure that children are safe, happy and stimulated
- Communicating information to children using play
- Encouraging children’s development
- Creating a child friendly environment
- Maintaining toys and play equipment
- Keeping records
Requirements:
- NVQ level 3 in Children’s Care, Learning and Development or equivalent
- First Aid Paediatric certificate
- An enhanced Children’s DBS
- GCSE in Maths and English at Grade C or above
- Excellent communication skills
- Previous experience working in an early year’s setting is desirable – working within a childcare setting caring for babies and children aged 6 months – 4 years
- Ability to develop good working relationships with staff and parents
- Awareness of child protection and data protection issues relevant to the post
- Flexible and adaptable to meet the needs of the nursery
- Ability to stay calm under pressure
