Job Description:
Optima Plus Recruitment is excited to present an opportunity for an experienced Senior Carer to join the team at the London Borough of Waltham Forest. This temporary full-time role offers a chance to contribute to the care and well-being of older individuals living with Dementia, in a service rated ‘Good’ by CQC.
Responsibilities:
- xperience working in a residential setting for older people (65+ years) living with Dementia, with a fair understanding of CQC inspections and standards
- Managing staff, including supervision, training, and handovers
- Administering medications (ordering, administering, and returns)
- Acting as the duty officer in charge of the care home
- Prioritizing workload and working with initiative
- Ensuring Health & Safety at Work and Infection Prevention Control practices
- Managing staff rotas and allocating duties
- Working shifts, including weekends and Bank Holidays
- Using basic computer programs such as email, Word, and Excel
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Writing reports and sending letters as required
Required Skills & Experience:
- Must be eligible to work in the UK (DO NOT APPLY if you require sponsorship)
- Qualifications: Minimum of QCF (NVQ) in Health and Social Care Level 3
- Must provide 5 years of references/work history, and a DBS summary form
