Midlands. This is an exciting opportunity to join a dynamic and forward-thinking stroke team as part of a planned expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Provide comprehensive hyper-acute & acute stroke care, inpatient rehabilitation, and TIA services.
- Work as part of a team of 7 stroke specialist consultants, supported by junior doctors, Clinical Nurse Specialists, and a multidisciplinary team.
- Work closely with colleagues in Radiology, Neurology, Vascular Surgery, and Critical Care to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Participate in daily TIA clinics, with access to rapid vascular imaging and a nationally recognised Vascular Radiology service.
- Take part in research, clinical trials, and education, contributing to advancements in stroke care.
- Have access to flexible and bespoke job planning, with options to include research, teaching, or leadership responsibilities.
- Benefit from hybrid working opportunities, incorporating Neurology, General Medicine, or Acute Medicine if desired.
Requirements: Qualifications (Essential)
- Full GMC registration with a licence to practise.
- Entry on GMC Specialist Register OR within 6 months of receiving CCT in Stroke Medicine, Neurology, Geriatric Medicine, Acute Medicine, or Rehabilitation Medicine at the time of interview.
Experience (Essential)
- Five years of supervised training in a relevant StR-equivalent training programme.
- High standard of clinical skill & expertise in Stroke, Acute Medicine, General Medicine, Neurology, or Geriatric Medicine.
- Experience working effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
- Commitment to teaching, training, and research in Stroke Medicine.
